Official Opening Ceremony

The festivities began on Friday morning, November 21, with an official opening ceremony led by City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate. The Mayor was joined by distinguished guests including Councillors Glenn Tozer and Alisha Swain.

The highlight of the morning ceremony was the unveiling of our magnificent giant lorikeet sculpture and commemorative plaque, marking this significant addition to the Gold Coast’s network of community spaces.

Exclusive Resident Celebration

Friday evening transformed into a magical experience, with 385 SkyRidge residents  gathering for an exclusive movie night in the park’s new amphitheatre, imagine a cosy night, under twinkling stars, watching the family favourite movie ‘Home’,  food trucks serving up delicious bites, refreshing drinks in hand, and of course… free popcorn!

Public Grand Opening

The celebration reached its peak on Saturday morning, November 22, when the park welcomed the public with an array of entertainment and activities offered. The response was overwhelming, with more than 2,000 people coming from near and far to experience Lorikeet Park for the first time.

The park’s successful grand opening marks a new chapter for the Gold Coast community, providing a vibrant recreational space where families and friends can connect, play, picnic and create lasting memories.
